Describe your values and how they inform your career: I believe that treating others equally and with respect and dignity is the most important thing that one can do as a person. As a physician every patient should be treated with compassion, empathy and understanding. As part of a team treating patients, we all come to the same table. Treating each other with value and respect strengthens the team and we thus provide better care to the patient and to each other.
What is the most inspiring part of your job? Being able to help people get through a difficult situation, and then having the opportunity to follow through and see how they are doing better, whether it be on a short term follow up or with a patient doctor relationship that lasts for years.
What do you love about practicing medicine? Medicine is always interesting and people are fascinating. There really is always something new every day and you learn something new every day. It is never boring!
What advice would you give a candidate who want to join our residency? Choose an area where you want to live and practice. Be open to the person that you thought you never would be able to be. Be ready to learn at an exponential rate and love every minute of it!

Describe your values and how they inform your career: I value kindness, compassion and collaboration. I strive to listen carefully to my patients so I can understand how their lives are affected by their medical conditions. As a leader of a care team, I try to help patients reach their goals for healing and wellness based on shared decision-making. Ultimately, I hope that each patient can be the best version of themselves possible through prevention, healthy lifestyles and chronic disease management.
What is the most inspiring part of your job? I am inspired by patients who make difficult changes to their lifestyle to improve their health and wellness. Many of my patients inspire me with the resilience they show through difficult circumstances. I am also inspired by the strength of women as they endure the many challenges of pregnancy and motherhood.
What do you love about practicing medicine? I love practicing full-spectrum family medicine including inpatient and outpatient medicine, obstetrics, doing colonoscopies and other procedures. I also love getting to know multi-generational families. There is something special about being involved from pregnancy to end of life care and everything in between.
What advice would you give a candidate who want to join our residency? Come willing to learn and grow in broad-spectrum training. Gain as much experience as you can in these few short years of training so you will be able to craft your career without limitations.

Describe your values and how they inform your career: Compassion, empathy, and trust are the guiding principles that shape my career. Compassion drives me to care for others with kindness and understanding, while empathy allows me to connect with patients on a deeper level and tailor my care to their individual needs. Trust is essential in building strong relationships with patients, as it fosters open communication and a sense of security in the care I provide.
What is the most inspiring part of your job? The most inspiring part of practicing medicine is the deep connection formed with patients and their families. Providing comfort in uncertain times, celebrating milestones, and offering support brings purpose to my work. Empowering patients to take control of their health is also gratifying. Educating them, involving them in decisions, and supporting lifestyle changes demonstrate the transformative power of empowerment. Overall, the privilege of being part of patients' lives, supporting them through challenges, and witnessing their resilience is inspiring.
What advice would you give a candidate who want to join our residency? Residency is an amazing opportunity to push yourself and explore all aspects of medicine with the support of great mentors. Take advantage of all learning opportunities to become the best version of yourself. Come ready to work hard, collaborate and join a new family that is eager to support your professional and personal goals. It is also important to be in an area where you can enjoy your days off!

Describe your values and how they inform your career: I value hard work, honesty, and authenticity. These values have largely shaped how I interact with my patients on a daily basis, and allow me to be myself in a professional and high stress environment.
What is the most inspiring part of your job? The impact that you have as a Family Physician affords you the opportunity to often make substantial and life-altering positive effects on your patients lives. That is the most rewarding and inspiring part of the job for me.
What do you love about practicing medicine? I love developing meaningful relationships with my patients and my coworkers, with a shared common goal of providing excellent medical care for the patients in my community. A full-spectrum Family Medicine Practice affords me the opportunity to manage a wide range of medical problems, which allows for work diversity, but also allows me to tailor my practice to some of my interests, which include Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, endoscopies, office procedures, and chronic medical condition management.
What advice would you give a candidate who want to join our residency? Idaho, and specifically the Treasure Valley, has a fast-growing patient population that is also aging and developing various health issues. While specialty services are available, there is a large shortage of Primary Care and Specialty physicians in this area to manage the growing and aging population. A candidate that would want to develop their clinical skills in this area should be prepared to take over management of many medical problems that may otherwise be handled by specialists in other areas of the country. While often challenging, it creates a perfect opportunity for lifelong learning and self-growth as a physician.
